Vietnam will move one step closer to the final qualifying round if they beat Malaysia.

In the last game two teams played at the World Cup qualifiers, Vietnam won 1-0 by the only goal of midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai.

Hai will be absent in this match due to suspension. Another key midfielder, Nguyen Tuan Anh will also sit out because of injury. Malaysia are set to have the strongest line-up for this game.

Vietnam coach Park Hang-seo and Malaysia coach Tan Cheng Hoe have faced each other four times. Park won three and drew one.

In the last five encounters, Malaysia couldn't beat Vietnam. They suffered four defeats and got a draw.

Vietnam are leading group G with 14 points after six games. Malaysia must win this game or they will be out of the race to next round. For Vietnam, they need to win this match to avoid playing a tough next match with UAE.
