As usual, Vietnam pushed forward right after the whistle.

Despite drawing the last two matches against Thailand and South Korea, Vietnam still have a great chance to advance but only if they can beat Malaysia and either Thailand or South Korea win the other game, which also takes place at the same time.

Malaysia have already been eliminated after losing the first two matches. But they can escape the bottom position if they beat Vietnam.

Vietnam and Malaysia have encountered 10 times at the U23 level. Of which, Vietnam won six, drew one and lost three games.
