SEA Games: Vietnam displays grit to beat Indonesia

Vietnam’s never-say-die spirit was in evidence in their third consecutive victory of the tournament Sunday, beating Indonesia 2-1 with a last minute stunner.

The match starts at 7 p.m. at the 13,000-seat Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila, the Philippines.

Both teams have won all previous matches in Group B. Vietnam beat Brunei 6-0 and Laos 6-1 while Indonesia had 2-0 victories over Singapore and Thailand.

Vietnam had a tough time in their latest encounter against Indonesia at the AFC U23 Championship qualifiers in Hanoi last March. They won with a last minute goal.

At this year SEA Games, Vietnam aim to win their first men's football gold ever.
