Indonesia lose Olympics ticket to Guinea

Guinea beat Indonesia 1-0 Thursday to snatch the last ticket to men's football at the 2024 Olympic Paris this summer.

    The referee blew the final whistle and with the 1-0 victory over Indonesia, Guinea snatched the last ticket to men's football at the 2024 Olympic Paris this summer. Ilaix Moriba scored the only goal for Guinea. For Indonesia, they will have to wait again until the next Olympics.

Guinea participated in the Olympics men's football once, in 1968, while the last time Indonesia qualified was 68 years ago in 1956. Both teams ranked fourth in their continent's U23 tournament and have to clash in the intercontinental playoff at France's National Football Center Clairefontaine.

In terms of strength, Indonesia are 134th on FIFA ranking, 58 places lower than Guinea.

The game will take place without spectators, as there is no stand at the venue.
