Capital punishment scrapped for seven crimes
Newly amended penal code, which will be effective from this July, regulates that instead of the death penalty, the highest punishment for mugging property; manufacturing or trading in fake foods/foodstuffs; surrendering to the enemy; disobeying orders; sabotaging facilities; and illegally storing narcotics will be 20 years imprisonment.

From July 1, 15 different forms of murder will be subject to the death penalty according to the 2015 Penal Code.
