Vietnam opened the score early, in the 3rd minute. Nguyen Tien Linh received a pass from a counter-attack and broke the offside trap to face Cambodia keeper Hul Kimhuy, and made a clean finish.
Linh doubled the score in the 27th minute with a stunner from outside the box.
In the second half, Vietnam scored two more goals just a minute apart. Defender Bui Tien Dung headed in to score in the 56th minute, before Nguyen Quang Hai received a pass and sprinted down the right flank before curling it in to make it 4-0 for Vietnam.
In the last 10 minutes of the game, Vietnam created many chances in an attempt to score more goals and secure the top group spot, but all of them lacked accuracy.
Vietnam ended up with the second position of Group B and will play the semifinals against Thailand.
Group B's top team, Indonesia, who had the same 10 points as Vietnam but scored more goals, will play Singapore.
