In the past month, Zhang has made appearances at various fashion events and posed for street style photographs. Sohu has described her fashion choices as polished, with a hint of vintage charm.
Earlier in October, Zhang was seen walking through the streets of Italy, pairing a sweater with a short skirt.
According to Sina, she accessorized her look with jewelry worth an estimated 200,000 yuan (US$28,000).
Zhang is known for her preference for natural makeup, often opting for neutral tones and subtly enhancing her eyes, complementing her sophisticated appearance.

Zhang, now 31, first garnered national attention in China in 2009 when a photo of her wearing a schoolgirl outfit and holding a cup of milk tea went viral online. Since then, she has been affectionately dubbed the “milk tea sister,” appearing in numerous TV shows and fashion magazines.
Her profile further increased when celebrated filmmaker Zhang Yimou invited her to star in “The Flowers of War.” However, she declined the offer to focus on her studies.
In addition to her public presence, Zhang’s academic achievements are notable. In 2011, she secured direct admission to the prestigious Tsinghua University.
This year, she was listed by the economic and financial research firm Hurun in its “Most Successful Alumni” list, which highlights the top graduates from China’s elite universities. Zhang stood out as Tsinghua University’s wealthiest alumna, according to the list, with an estimated net worth of 60 billion yuan (US$8.4 billion).
This marks the third consecutive year that Zhang has topped the list.
She is also a frequent guest at international fashion weeks and the Cannes Film Festival. Sina reports that she is regarded as one of the most influential personalities in China’s fashion scene.
In 2015, Zhang married Liu Qiangdong, the 51-year-old chairman of JD.com, one of China’s leading e-commerce companies. Liu’s fortune was estimated at US$4.9 billion by Forbes in 2023. Since their marriage, Zhang has reportedly played a significant role in JD.com’s operations.
The couple welcomed their first daughter in 2015, and Liu announced in 2023 that Zhang was expecting again. Although rumors have surfaced that Zhang gave birth to twin boys last year, the couple has not yet confirmed the reports.
