Born Pham Thi Hong Nga, Mina, 34, is often seen sharing photos that highlight her opulent lifestyle, featuring lavish vacations and a collection of items from premier fashion brands, on social media.

Among her collection of extravagant accessories is the Richard Mille RM 71-02 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman Gloria edition watch, a present from Minh, which commands a price in the tens of billions of Vietnamese dong (VND1 billion equals US$40,072).

The Richard Mille RM 71-02 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman series comprises ten models, namely: Bianca, Carmen, Diana, Donna, Gloria, Grace, Jane, Jessica, Liz, and Paloma. Only seven units of each model have been produced, totaling 70 RM 71-02 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman watches around the globe.

Decorated with between 817 and 971 gemstones, each watch boasts a white gold casing, a power reserve of 50 hours, and can resist water up to a depth of 50 meters.

The Gloria variant owned by Mina is embellished with 967 gemstones, including diamonds, yellow and pink sapphires, black spinel, spessartite, pink opal, onyx, and hematite, amassing a total of 5.26 carats.

Minh expressed his preference for the Gloria model for Mina due to her fondness for the color pink and the model’s exclusivity.

“The decision to purchase it for my wife was not made lightly,” he remarked. “Given that this model is one of only seven available globally, I felt it was important to select something of genuine value for my wife rather than opting for something of no significance.”

Cécile Guenat, the mind behind the RM 71-02 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman series, is the daughter of Dominique Guenat, the co-founder of Richard Mille. She assumed the role of creative director for women’s watches in 2015.

Possessing a foundation in jewelry design, Cécile introduced this design line in 2018, incorporating elements of tribal art with Art Deco.

This series introduced a significant shift in color palette for Richard Mille, a brand Vogue described as “traditionally masculine.” The inspiration came from the disco era of the 1970s, marking the brand’s first venture into incorporating such a vibrant array of colors and gemstones in a watch.

Cécile dedicated over half a year to precisely position each gemstone to ensure the visual appeal of each piece was impeccable.

“Working with the stones themselves proved to be a considerable challenge,” Cécile told Hypebeast. “Because stones of very similar hues can end up looking completely different depending on their size and the type of setting.”

Although the 10 variants of the RM 71-02 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman differ in terms of stone placement, engraving, and the design of the central dial, all incorporate the CRMT1 caliber, Richard Mille’s inaugural automatic tourbillon movement.

This innovation is hailed as a significant accomplishment, following 1,000 hours of research and development to incorporate the tourbillon mechanism into a movement that is merely 6.2 millimeters in thickness and weighs just 8 grams.

Each watch strap is uniquely designed for its respective model, featuring dual colors and embossed with botanical motifs at the 12 o’clock position and geometric patterns at the 6 o’clock position.

Minh, at 40, holds the position of vice-director at Long Thanh Plastic, a foremost plastic manufacturing company in Vietnam founded by his parents in the 1990s.

He harbors a keen interest in collecting luxury sports cars, with his collection boasting models such as the McLaren Elva, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Mercedes-AMG G63, and Porsche Cayenne, to name a few.

Before his union with Mina, he had gone through a divorce.
