Chinese film star Fan Bingbing wore a strapless dress from the “Golden Branch and Jade Leaf” collection by Vietnamese designer Phan Huy at an event in Bangkok.
The event, held on Sunday, was organized to promote Fan’s cosmetics brand, Fan Beauty.
Huy’s “Golden Branch and Jade Leaf” Spring-Summer 2026 Haute Couture collection was previously shown at Paris Fashion Week.
Huy, 27, from Quang Tri Province in central Vietnam, is a guest member of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (Haute Couture Federation). He regularly presents collections at Paris Fashion Week, earning recognition for shows such as “Afterglow at Tam Giang Lagoon” and “Lost in the Cavern,” known for their glamorous and romantic aesthetic.
On Weibo, Fan’s stylist shared that after seeing the “Golden Branch and Jade Leaf” collection in France, Fan personally requested to wear one of the designs for the event. The team described the gown as “romantic like a sparkling galaxy,” with intricate, hand-crafted details.
Fan completed the look with romantic-style makeup and rose-colored lipstick.
The actress has previously worn designs from other Vietnamese brands, including Chung Thanh Phong and JoliPoli.
She has praised Vietnamese designers in recent years for blending foreign techniques with their own creativity and cultural elements, resulting in unique, fresh, and charming designs.
During the same Thailand business trip, Fan's stylist also selected another design in purple tones, evoking a springtime feel.
Once one of China's most prominent stars, 45-year-old Fan was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in 2017.
Her career suffered a major setback in 2018 following a tax scandal, which led to a lengthy absence from the mainland entertainment industry.
In recent years, Fan has focused on projects outside China and expanded into the cosmetics industry, opening multiple stores across Southeast Asia.
