In a speech in front of the crowd gathered, Minh spoke sweet words about his wife before calling her to join him on the stage. He then kissed her passionately in front of guests’ staring eyes in a rare public display of affection in Vietnam.
The party was held on Thursday to honor Minh’s newest supercar, and it was open only to close relatives and friends of the businessman.
Minh said he started preparing the plan to publicly express his love and appreciation to Mina six months ago. He said he had always been aware of the hardships and challenges Mina had to face since they became a couple 11 years ago.
Minh (second from R) thanked his parents, who gave him all the resources he needed to become the man he is today.
The main event of the party was when Minh introduced his McLaren Elva to the guests.
A representative from the automobile brand said Minh’s car was customized to his order, which made it a unique masterpiece among the total 149 McLaren Elva units avilable for distribution.
The black car is adorned with a painting based on Minh’s life. The painting was created by Vietnamese-born contemporary artist Hom Nguyen.
Because of that, Minh said the automobile is not merely a car. It is a meaningful item to him, and he had spent two years preparing it to celebrate his birthday.
According to the businessman, this is the first time his car-buying decision got approval from his mother, even though the car cost him hundreds of billions of dong (VND1 billion equals $41,000).
Industry insiders also consider Minh’s McLaren Elva a unique vehicle and one of the world’s rarest cars.
Minh and the guests at his party, including host Tran Thanh (third from L), singer Ung Hoang Phuc (second from R) and his wife (far R), and singer Pham Quynh Anh (third from R).
Thanh was also the host of the party.
Businessman Nguyen Duc Cuong (R), a close friend of Minh’s, was also present to say congratulations.
Rapper Wowy opened the party with a performance of his new song, which was specifically created for Minh as a gift.
The song lyrics deliver a reminder of the gratitude people should have for their parents.
Singer Tuan Hung, another close celebrity friend of Minh’s, also performed his latest song “Gap Doi Yeu Thuong” (Double the Love) at the event.
Phuc sang his song “Chang Kho Thuy Chung” (Loyal Man).
Minh, 40, is the deputy director of Long Thanh Plastic, one of the biggest plastic manufacturers in Vietnam founded by his parents in the 1990s.
He is also a supercar collector. Along with the McLaren Elva, he owns an Aston Martin V8 Vantage, a Mercedes-AMG G63, a Porsche Cayenne, among others.
He’d been divorced once before getting married to Mina, 34.
