Do, 21, also made it to the top 3 contestants with the highest votes from audiences in the pageant’s final on Saturday in the city of Richmond.
She completed a catwalk course in Vietnam prior to the contest as preparation.
Do is an undergraduate student at Mount Royal University, majoring in communications.
She studied dancing, playing musical instruments, and acting from an early age.
Do said her parents had to work hard as Vietnamese immigrants in the city of Calgary for her to be able to pursue her courses.
Do competed in the 2023 Miss Universe Canada pageant after winning the 2022 Miss Calgary title last year.
She said in the Miss Calgary contest last year that her dream was to become an English teacher at a university in Vietnam.
She chose a Vietnamese traditional ao dai costume for her photoshoot after winning the title.
According to Do, her hobbies include reading, traveling, dancing, and playing sports. She also researches Vietnamese culture and participates in various voluntary projects in Calgary.
Do is also known for her talents in sports, and was a member of her high school’s badminton, basketball, volleyball, and athletics teams.
She is currently working as a coach for a volleyball team in Calgary.
Do also operates a charity project named “Operation: Love for Tomorrow.”
She has held various charity programs that provide food and repair houses for children in poverty.
The beauty queen said she learned to be patient, hardworking, and self-disciplined from her grandparents.
