The three underground stations of the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line each has their own highlights, and are ready for opening day on Dec. 22.

The Ben Thanh Station opened on Nov. 28, after seven years of construction. The station spans 236 m in length, with four underground floors. White is the color theme, and lighting systems, ticket machines and other infrastructures have all been installed.

The Ben Thanh Station is the central station for HCMC's Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line, and is the largest one among all of the line's station.

The metro line has now been completed, and procedures are being finished so it can enter operation on Dec. 22.

The lobby on the first floor has 18 automatic ticket machines. Ticket prices range from VND7,000 (28 cents) to VND20,000 (79 cents) for cash payment, and VND6,000-19,000 for card payment.

Monthly passes cost VND300,000, with a 50% discount for students. The elderly and the disabled can ride the trains for free.

There are stairs, elevators and escalators to take people to different floors.

About 400 m away from the site is the Saigon Opera House Station, which was completed after 10 years of construction. The station has four floors and with similar infrastructures to the other stations.

HCMC's first metro line costs over VND43.7 trillion, spanning around 20 km from Ben Thanh in District 1 to the Long Thanh Depot in Thu Duc City.

Besides three underground stations, the line also has 11 elevated ones.
