After two years of construction, the overpass in front of Tan Son Nhat's third terminal is mostly finished. This project is part of the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connector road, which is set to open fully in April.
The 4-km road project, with an investment of over VND4.8 trillion (US$189.5 million), will feature branch roads, elevated bridges, and tunnels. It will help ease traffic congestion at Tan Son Nhat airport entrance and provide direct access to the T3 domestic terminal.
The 988-meter overpass includes a separate stretch leading into the T3 terminal to help alleviate congestion once it opens in late April.
The overpass is 17 meters wide and includes four lanes. Key components such as asphalt, signage, lighting, guardrails, and speed bumps are already in place.
A 100-meter-long stretch leading into the T3 terminal is located in the middle of the overpass. This stretch is nearly complete, with the guardrail and traffic signs being installed.
Workers are completing the final stages of construction and cleaning up the overpass, which is set to open in late April.
The overpass stands about five meters high above the Tran Quoc Hoan – Cong Hoa connector road, which stretches for 1.25 km and has been operational since the start of the year.
The overpass arcs towards the T3 terminal when viewed from below. The full connection to the new terminal is expected to be completed soon.
At the junction between the overpass and Hoang Hoa Tham Street, workers are preparing the foundation, laying gravel, and applying asphalt to complete the connector road in time for the April opening.

Once finished, the project will ease traffic congestion at Tan Son Nhat airport, improve access to the terminal, and enhance traffic connectivity in Tan Binh District and surrounding areas.
