Work on the bridge costing VND2.4 trillion (US$101 million) of the state budget began in March 2022 and is ahead of schedule.

Named after the Thuan An estuary, the bridge spans 2.36 kilometers long and 20 meters wide with four lanes.

It is now gradually taking shape, with 45 out of 52 piers completed.

The contractor stated that the most challenging aspect of the construction is drilling the bored piles in the sea gate and dealing with rain and storms.

According to the plan, the Thuan An sea gate overpass will be completed by April 30, 2025.

The completed bridge will then be connected to the national coastal road to improve transport links between sports and industrial parks on the central coast and attract more investment into Thua Thien Hue.
