Work started on the road in late 2020.
Costing VND1.5 trillion (US$62.3 million), the project involves a main road that is 25 m wide and a parallel road 8 m wide.
The intersection between the road and National Highway 51 (on the right) is a backbone route linking Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province with Dong Nai Province and Ho Chi Minh City.
Until now, no progress has been made to build the intersection due to disagreements in clearing the land owned by a cooperative in Bien Hoa City, the capital of Dong Nai.
Dong Nai government has directed the city authorities to soon clear the needed land to speed up the project progress.
Concrete blocks that are supposed to make the drainage system for the road are now covered in grass.
A couple of kilometers away from the location of An Hoa Bridge is the construction site of Vam Cai Sut Bridge.
The bridge is 650 m long and around 23 m wide.
As scheduled, the two sides of the bridge will get connected later this month and the entire bridge will be completed within next year.
Around 2 km of the road that runs through Long Hung residential area has been almost completed.
Dong Nai Province assessed that the road will help reduce the number of vehicles traveling on National Highway 51 to reach HCMC – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway, which connects HCMC and Dong Nai.
