An expressway is set to open this month to reduce travel time between Ho Chi Minh City and the central beach town Phan Thiet from six to two hours.

The 99-kilometer Phan Thiet – Dau Giay expressway, which was constructed from September 2020, is set to be completed by April 30.

The VND12.5 trillion ($532.71 million) road is expected to cut commute time from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet in Binh Thuan Province, home to Phan Thiet, from 5-6 hours to 2 hours.

The expressway is basically completed, with laying asphalt and painting road markings the only two remaining tasks.

Signs have been set up. The expressway allows maximum speed of 120 kph and requires a minimum speed of 60 kph.
