The steel arch bridge will consist of three spans, with the middle stretching 150 m, and the other two, 49 m each.

It will be the fifth across Can Tho River.

Constructors have finished the two spans on the side and are working on the middle span.

"More than 4,000 tons of steel have been imported from South Korea to build the three spans," said Hoang Huu Son, deputy director of the project.

The bridge uses as many as 13,000 steel bolts.

"The two sides of the bridge are expected to get connected on September 2, and the bridge is set to be open to traffic later this year," said Son.
