Covering a span of 5.2 kilometers, the road runs from Hoa An Bridge in southeastern Bien Hoa City, the capital of Dong Nai Province, to the province's Vinh Cuu District.
Costing VND1.3 trillion, the road is in its final process of surface completion. The whole project is reportedly 50% complete.
Construction workers are layering crushed stones with a vibratory roller before putting a layer of asphalt onto it to make the surface.
"We have handed over several sections of the road, with crushed stone already layered," said Hung, a construction worker.
Divided into six lanes, the two-way roadway is designated to be 24-meter-wide, with two 5-meter-wide sidewalks run alongside its sides.
Infrastructure for a lighting system has already been installed. Traffic signals, a drainage system, and trees are set to complete in the upcoming time.
Rach Lung Bridge, part of the road, is almost complete. Vehicles can start passing over the bridge by the end of the year.
The remaining VND600 billion of the project has been spent on constructing embankments and a riverside park, which started late last year.
According to the constructor, the project is 55% complete.
Construction workers can mostly work on construction processes when the tide has gone out only, lengthening the project’s duration.
Bien Hoa People’s Committee said issues in land clearance have slowed down the project’s construction process.
According to constructors, 30 households have not yet approved the compensation plan.
