The 250-square-meter house in the central town of Vinh is home to five members of three generations of a family.
The owners wanted an office and a home on the land that is narrow on the right and flares out on the left. The result is that the front is an office from where they run their business, and in the back is a quiet and green house.
There are three gardens, the main one being between the office and house, providing a sense of traditional Vietnamese architecture.
The main rooms are toward the main garden and in the center of the building.
Instead of being fully closed, the rooftop has some open spaces to allow natural light and breeze to come in, allowing the owners to get a sense of time and weather.
The bridge connecting the two structures is above the main garden, creating a sense of walking on top of trees.
The living room on the ground floor is surrounded by two layers of protection. The first one is a fence made of hollow tile, which provides ventilation. Plants are placed behind the fence to act as an air and heat filter.
Large glass doors in the living room provide views of the outside.
