They are training at the National Sports Training Center in Hanoi. Before each training session, head coach Truong Minh Sang (L) gathers the team to discuss things and encourage them.
He said: "The SEA Games this year has eight events for men including team, all-around and six individual events. The target is to win two to three medals."
Gymnastics requires high technical ability and precision and so the athletes must warm up properly before training.
At last year's SEA Games 31 in Hanoi, Vietnamese gymnasts won four gold medals. However, Cambodia will not have women's gymnastics events this year, and so the coaching staff are focusing on the men's events and key members who have won SEA Games gold medals before.

At the SEA Games 31, Thanh won gold medals in the parallel bars and horizontal bar individual events and men's all-around team event and a bronze in the all-around individual event. Since 2015 Thanh, one of Vietnam’s top gymnasts, has won 11 gold medals.
Gymnastics is a strong suit for Vietnam at major international events. Besides the SEA Games, the team will also compete in the Asian Games and the 2024 Olympic Paris qualifiers this year.
Nguyen Van Khanh Phong is one of the talented new athletes. At the Gymnastics World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan, he reached the final of the still rings event.
Le Thanh Tung has won the 2017 World Challenge Cup and 2017 Asian Championships and has a hat-trick of gold medals at the SEA Games.
Trinh Hai Khang trains tirelessly for his second SEA Games. The Hanoian said he is very determined and confident about winning a medal for Vietnam.
