The evaluation of VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight 2022 took place on the morning of November 5. Vivian rode a bicycle from the expected starting point at the front of Hanoi Post Office, on Dinh Tien Hoang Street, via Cau Go, Ly Thai To, Le Thanh Tong, and Tran Hung Dao Streets.
After more than an hour measuring the roads around Hoan Kiem District, Vivian continued to evaluate the roads in Hai Ba Trung District, around Thong Nhat Park. The weather was cool, favorable for the expert to calculate important parameters.
"It's great to travel around Hanoi by participating in a marathon. I think this will become the top running destination for international runners," Vivian said.
The course runs past many famous and iconic places such as the Hoan Kiem Lake, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and the Opera House.
After measuring the 21km route, Vivian recorded the running parameters in the Hanoi Old Quarter, then continued the second loop at the turning point to complete the 42km distance measurement. He will calculate and make requirements for the track. Then organizer will adjust the route to best serve runners during the competition.
Each kilometer on the track was marked with paint spray. The bike used for odometer following the AIMS standard has a wheel-mounted mechanical locator, without shock absorbers.
Vivian said the Hanoi midnight marathon route was beautiful and flat. "I think this route is quite interesting, with many surprises and many turning points."
The data collected by Vivian will be the basis for organizers to adjust the route facilities and safety plan.
With the AIMS standard, runners can use the results at VnExpress Marathon tournaments to apply for major world races such as the Boston Marathon, London Marathon, or Berlin Marathon...
