Thousands of people gathered at the Viet Tri Stadium in Phu Tho from Monday night to purchase tickets for Vietnam's football matches at the SEA Games 31.
At 8 a.m. Tuesday, tickets for Group A matches begin to sell at the stadium in the northern province. But people already lined up for the tickets from the night before.
This would be the first time the national football team play an official tournament in Phu Tho, sending fans into a craze.
Fans had to wait long hours for tickets.
20,000 tickets would be sold, both online and offline.
Due to the sheer number of people and lack of organization, people are jammed together.
Employees hand out tickets at the booth.
There are three price ranges for the tickets: VND200,000 ($8.71), VND300,000 and VND500,000. Each person can buy two tickets.
Some people resell tickets outside at higher prices.
Vietnam will play their first match against Indonesia on May 6. In the SEA Games final in 2019, Vietnam bested Indonesia 3-0, securing the country's first gold.
