From 6 p.m., thousands of people gathered onNguyen Hue walking street, District 1 to watch the game between Vietnam and Indonesia. In this area, five large LED screens were set up to serve the fans.
Watching football games of Vietnam on the street is an activity that often attracts many local people. However, the acitivity has been postponed over the past two years due to Covid-19. The last time this street hosted a football screening event is in SEA Games 2019.
People on the street can feel the vibrant atmosphere of thousands of fans in Viet Tri Stadium, northern Phu Tho province, through large screens.
Nguyen Van Phong (red shirt) celebrated the opening goal of Vietnam in the second half.
“The game with Indonesia was tough but I believed that the team would win and creat a great advantage to get past the group stage,” Phong said.
Like Phong, many other fans were excited when Vietnam got the first goal, scored by forward Nguyen Tien Linh.
