The renovated house is 104 square meters large, built on a lot size of 6 x 18 meters.
The original structure of the house was relatively simple, consisting of one living room, one bedroom, rice storage room and a noodle making area. But to accommodate the needs of the owner’s family, the architect team changed the entire house structure, thereby transforming it into a comfortable and functional home.
Despite the extensive nature of the renovations, the design and construction phases were impressively completed within a 30-day period, meeting the handover deadline before Lunar New Year in 2024. The total cost of the project, including interiors, was around VND650 million ($26,000).
The house has one living room, a kitchen-dining room, two bedrooms, and two yards at the front and back.
To save costs, industrial wood was used for most of the interior, recycled materials from the original house were also employed. The roof was made from a blend of metal and concrete casting.
The living room houses an altar and worship area, reflecting the owner’s lifestyle. In front of the house is a playground and parking area.
The kitchen extends directly to a small garden, which provides ample natural sunlight and airflow, helping with ventilation during cooking.
The dining room is surrounded by the living room, kitchen, and an open space. A compact dining table set was chosen to allow the area more airiness and “flow.”
The house’s only bathroom is placed between the common living space and the bedroom for easy access.
