The architecture awards, launched by the Farmani Group- a U.S. organization curating and promoting photography, design and architecture are part of a set of major awards given for design, architecture and photography.
The eighth annual event attracted a large number of entries from 81 countries.
Bat Trang House by VTN Architects, won the award for "Green Architecture" for its building in Hanoi’s traditional pottery village Bat Trang.
Its facade is made of locally handcrafted ceramic tiles and greenery to help overcome urban air and noise pollution.
The environment-friendly building combines renewable materials, recycles rainwater and uses solar energy.
The Hien in Da Nang by Winhouse Architecture & Construction won in the "Residential Architecture" category.
Featuring a porch, trees, and a vegetable garden, it's tailored to the central region's tropical climate.
It mainly used recycled wood and limited the use of PU paint, making it low-cost, safe and environmentally friendly.
Labri project by Nguyen Khai Architects & Associates won the "Residential Architecture" category.
The house is inside a small alley in central Hue City, and consists of four blocks made of three layers, glass, vines and concrete, which are randomly placed and rotated at different angles. There are no internal or external partitions, creating a feeling of being close to nature.
Viettel Education and Training Center by VTN Architects won in the "Educational Buildings" category.
It is situated in the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park (Hanoi), and designed like a forest in the middle of the city, with 12 blocks interspersed among green gardens, linked by a large roof. Open corridors and greenery help provide many layers of shade and reduce solar radiation and noise.
Project 215D7 in HCMC by 23o5 Studio won in the "Restoration & Renovation" category. It was created from an old villa, whose layout was rearranged to meet the owner's requirements and common spaces were expanded.
The new structure is more connected and seamless than before, with the first floor consisting of the living area, a swimming pool and garden. The second floor has bedrooms, and the third has lots of space for entertainment and recreational activities.
Project 140THL also by 23o5 Studio won in the "Residential Architecture" category. The house is situated on a busy street in HCMC and surrounded by houses.
To create a sense of privacy and tranquility, the design team created a front garden and large windows as a "natural curtain” with light and greenery.
Grand World Phu Quoc by VTN Architects won the award for "Hospitality Architecture." This is an energy-efficient structure built from sustainable materials including 42,000 bamboo stalks.
The top has a skylight to bring natural light indoors, creating a clear space despite the complex structure with densely interwoven layers.
Na Khoang School in Son La by 1+1>2 won in the "Educational Buildings" category. It is inspired by traditional Thai dance and seeks to express the spirit of solidarity and sharing.
It is built with natural materials: adobe bricks made from on-site soil, construction waste and stones collected by locals from nearby streams. The walls’ colors and patterns are inspired by traditional brocade weaving.
Viettel Offsite Studio in Hanoi by VTN Architects won in the "Educational Buildings" category.
The building is more than 30 meters high, with concrete walls arranged in a V-shape, and overlooks the central lake. The project has an open design focused on connectivity and making the workspace harmonious.
The Core in HCMC by AD+studio, won in the "Heritage Architecture" category. It consists of two-story blocks arranged around a common yard. They all have a skylight to ensure there is natural light and ventilation despite the long and narrow floor plan.
