During autumn, the chilly and misty early morning weather of Huong Hoa District in Quang Tri Province makes for a refreshingly grand awakening.

Huong Hoa District is known for the Lao Bao international border gate located along National Highway 9 connecting with Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar.

The terrain in Huong Hoa is a mix of rivers and mountains. The weather reflects a typical tropical monsoon climate, with all-year-round heat and humidity, and an average temperature of 22 degrees Celcius.

Bon said he really likes taking photos of natural landscapes in the mist so he usually wakes up around 3-4 a.m. to catch the sunrise.

Huong Hoa District is located on the Truong Son mountain range with its highest point measured at 1,617 m. Its lower terrain is located northeast and southwest of the range.

A wind farm with about 30 turbines jutting through the mist in Huong Linh Commune, 10 km from Khe Sanh Town. These stainless steel turbines were imported from the Netherlands, with a height of 82 m and a weight of 200 tons each.
