The wild sunflower season has come to a close, paving the way for Da Lat's cherry blossoms. The first cherry blossom trees in this mountainous town have begun to bloom. This year's flowers are a bit behind schedule, and only the blossoms in the Cau Dat Tea Hill area are in full bloom.
In other areas of the city, there are no signs of blossoms yet.
The photo showcases the first fully bloomed cherry blossom trees at Cau Dat Tea Hill, situated around 20 kilometers from the center of Da Lat City.
Pham Kim Nhan, a tourism professional in the Central Highlands city, said the cherry blossoms at Cau Dat Tea Hill started blooming on New Year's Day and are now nearly all in full bloom, with some trees already sprouting young leaves.
According to Nhan, the past couple of weeks has seen the highest number of visitors to Cau Dat, especially on weekends. On average, Nhan hosts around 10-20 guests each day, following a schedule that involves cloud hunting in the early morning and then visiting the tea hill.
This year, Da Lat cherry blossoms bloom simultaneously with favorable weather. Days are sunny and warm, at around 25 degrees Celsius, and mornings and evenings are cooler.
Nhan recommends that tourists visit the tea hill around 7 a.m. or in the afternoon when the sun provides soft lighting for the best effects if they wish to capture photos of the flowers.
The Cau Dat Tea Hill area is open to visitors for free to admire the flowers and take photographs. Visitors are kindly urged not to litter or pluck flowers and disrupt the tea plants.
Cherry blossoms in the Cau Dat area often bloom earliest in Da Lat, followed by blossoms in other areas such as Mong Dao Nguyen, Xuan Tho, Trai Mat, Tuyen Lam Lake, and finally, the city center.
Depending on the weather, cherry blossoms bloom for two to three weeks before fading. Tourists can plan to visit Da Lat to enjoy the blossoms from now until early February.
