Phuong Hoang (Phoenix) Hill is in the quaint Bac Son Ward, within Quang Ninh Province's Uong Bi City, approximately 60 kilometers from the famous Ha Long Bay. It soars nearly 500 meters above sea level.
This spot offers a breathtaking landscape featuring numerous mountains, hills, pure air and romantic vistas.
In these recent days, as the first light of dawn breaks, the Phuong Hoang Hill area transforms into a surreal sea of clouds, shrouded in a soft, ethereal haze.
The spectacle begins as early as 3 a.m. as clouds gently weave through small valleys, gradually blanketing the hillsides.
According to residents, this sea of clouds only graces the landscape during the autumn season, following days of continuous rain, accompanied by a chilling breeze.
The view from Phuong Hoang Hill possesses an untamed beauty. The contours of the mountains and hills extend as far as you can see, creating a captivating blend of land and sky.
Photographer Tran Dat from nearby Hai Phong City decided to spend the night at Phuong Hoang Hill to witness the cloud display at dawn.
He shared, "Awakening amidst the natural surroundings, gazing upon the sea of clouds, the mountains and hills, is an experience truly worth savoring in one's lifetime."
Much like Dat, many visitors opt to camp overnight at Phuong Hoang Hill. For those concerned about bringing their own equipment, the option to rent tents, tables and chairs is available, with prices ranging VND200,000-400,000 (US$8-16) per day and night.
Additionally, dining options are provided, with meals priced at VND200,000-300,000 per person.
Phuong Hoang Hill also undergoes the changing seasons, spanning from October to the following January, gradually transforming the lush greenery into a warm, earthy brown.
Visitors have the option to reach the hill's summit via motorbike or car, though the one-kilometer journey is steep and challenging. For convenience, motorbike taxis are readily available for a fee of VND50,000 each per trip.
