Midu arrived at the film studio in Zhejiang Province on Oct. 23.
Located near Shanghai, Hengdian World Studios is famous for being the backdrop of iconic Chinese TV series such as "Story of Yanxi Palace" and "Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace", among many other productions.
Built in 1996, the studio almost perfectly replicates Beijing's Forbidden City and other ancient palaces, creating vivid and authentic scenes on film.
Hengdian World Studios is a 2.5-hour drive south of Hangzhou and about 4.5 hours from Shanghai. Last week, Midu and her husband Minh Dat, a businessman, also visited these two cities.
The studio welcomed 19 million visitors in 2019, and is always included in tour initeraries of Shanghai-Hangzhou.
The studio boasts a 12,000-square-meter indoor studio lot, the largest of its kind globally, Global Times reported.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the studio complex is larger than Universal and Paramount Studios combined.
The studio was built with more than 20 film & TV shooting bases spanning thousands of years of history, including Qin Palace, Qingming Shanghe Tu, Ming and Qing Palatial Garden, Dream Valley, Dream Bund, Sunny Spring Valley, and New Yuanmingyuan Palace.
It is also home to over 40 hotels with over 10,000 guest rooms.

Called as Palace of Ming and Qing Dynasties, the area reproduces the buildings, folk dwellings, shops and imperial palaces at different times in history by referring to the architectural style of imperial palaces of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
This is where hot films and TV series were filmed, such as "Curse of the Golden Flower", "War and Beauty", "The Legend of Zhen Huan", "Story of Yanxi Palace" and "Jade Palace Lock Heart".
The Palace of Emperor Qin was built in 1997 for filming "The Emperor and the Assassin" by director Chen Kaige, with the Xianyang Palace, the main palace of the imperial palace of the Qin Dynasty, as its prototype.
This area was built for shooting the film "The Opium War" directed by Xie Jin in 1996, marking the start of Hengdian World Studios.
Representing the scenes of Guangzhou and Hong Kong around 1840, it has become a popular filming location of spy dramas and dramas such as "The Informer", "The Disguiser", "Old Nine Door", and "Sparrow".
The area was built combining the social background, folk custom and folk living style of the Northern Song Dynasty and the ancient architectural characteristics of the Song Dynasty.
It is the filming location of "Li’s Fly Cutter", "Chinese Paladin", "The Journey of Flower", "The Story of Ming Lan", and "The Untamed".
