The photo series "Da Lat 1961" was digitized by the Center for Archives, Research, and Preservation of American Historical Documents at the University of Texas for storage.

In this photo is view of crescent-shaped Xuan Huong Lake seen from the Dalat Palace Hotel in 1961.

Over 2 km long, the lake passes by many key destinations in Da Lat.

Surrounding it are pine forests, lawns, and flower gardens, making it a popular spot for tourists to stroll and enjoy the scenery.

In 1959, architect Ngo Viet Thu renovated the Hoa Binh area, updating the façade of Da Lat Market and constructing a concrete bridge connecting the new and old sections of the market.

This created an architectural complex that harmonized with the surrounding park, steps, and streets.

In the photo, Da Lat Market is viewed from the top of the stairs near Hoa Binh Hall.

About 300 meters from Da Lat Market lies a bustling urban area on the Lam Vien Plateau.

Minh Mang Slope, now known as Truong Cong Dinh Street, is behind the Hoa Binh area and has been one of the busiest streets in Da Lat since the 1960s.
