She toured the historic city of Melaka located in the state of the same name on June 16 as part of the Visit Melaka Year 2024 program.
When she first made her appearance to the public in Melaka, she attracted the crowd by wearing a pink embroidered Nyonya kebaya, traditional women’s costume in Malaysia, paired with a teal batik skirt.
She experienced the Melaka River Cruise, a popular tourist experience in the city. Visitors will be able to take a boat ride along the river, admire the beautiful city views and learn about its rich history.
The cruise usually lasts about 45 minutes, passing famous locations such as A Famosa fortress, St. Paul, Stadthuys Bridge, Taming Sari Tower and seeing colorful murals along the riverbank.
She attended an exhibition at the Baba Nyonya Museum and dined inside the four-star Baba House Melaka hotel.
Housed in a heritage building showcasing traditional Peranakan culture, Baba House Melaka is a three-minute walk from bustling Jonker Street.
Baba Nyonya Museum is a three-storey house that combines Chinese and Malay architectural elements, decorated with intricately carved wooden furniture, Chinese porcelain and Nyonya crockery.
The museum also has a collection of Peranakan jewelry, costumes, and crafts.
Wearing a traditional Chinese costume, Fan explores the five-star Casa delrio Melaka hotel built on the bank of the Malacca River.
She said the hotel’s design was beautiful.
The hotel is designed in a style that combines traditional Portuguese architecture and modernity. The hotel has a curved dome architecture and brightly colored arched windows, creating an ancient and romantic beauty.
This place is likened to a miniature 'European village' in the heart of Melaka city.
