Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 Khanh Van poses at Ho Chi Minh City Museum in District 1, wearing an ao dai by designer Song Toan, paired with a checkered scarf, a symbol of southern Vietnam's revoluntaries.

Located on Ly Tu Trong Street, the museum spans nearly two hectares. The building was designed by French architect Alfred Foulhoux and constructed between 1885 and 1890.

The building has two floors, covering more than 1,700 square meters, and features a Renaissance architectural style that blends European and Asian elements.

While the facade showcases Western characteristics, the roof has an Asian design. In 1978, the building was turned into a museum that remains existing until now. The nearly 130-year-old structure retains much of its original architectural charm, attracting both domestic and international tourists.

Known also as the Reunification Convention Hall, the palace is situated at 135 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, with its main facade overlooking Le Duan Boulevard.

Its construction began in July 1962 based on designs by architect Ngo Viet Thu, the first Vietnamese recipient of the Rome Prize.

Covering 20,000 square meters of floor space on a 4,500-square-meter lot, the building is 26 meters high and includes a ground floor, two mezzanine levels, two underground floors, and a rooftop helipad. It has over 100 rooms, including the state banquet hall, the cabinet meeting room and the working offices used by the former president and vice president of South Vietnam.

Miss World Vietnam Huynh Tran Y Nhi spent a day visiting many familiar places in the city center, including the People's Council and People's Committee building.

She said she was impressed with the architecture and space of the 114-year-old building.

The building at 86 Le Thanh Ton Street in District 1 was designed by French architect Femand Gardes. Its construction started in 1889 and finished in 1909.

In 2020 the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recognized it as a national architectural relic.

In front of it is Nguyen Hue Street with its pedestrian square, which is always crowded during holidays.

For many days now, this place has attracted crowds to take pictures with ceremonial cannons each weighing about 4 tons.
