Bali Island in Indonesia topped the list.
Nicknamed as "Island of Gods", Bali is famous for its intricate dances, captivating rituals, and ancient temples that carry harmonious blend of Hindu-Balinese beliefs.
The island welcomed 6.3 million foreign visitors last year, surpassing pre-pandemic levels, and aims to attract 6.5 million this year.
The 2025 Travelers' Choice Awards are based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews submitted globally on Tripadvisor between Oct. 1, 2023, and Sept. 30, 2024. These awards celebrate destinations with the highest ratings, highlighting places that have captured the hearts of travelers worldwide.
According to Tripadvisor, these destinations are top spots for good reason - they've got everything travelers are looking for and more.

Vietnam's capital city of Hanoi ranked second.
Tripadvisor readers recommended key attractions such as the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, and Hoa Lo Prison.
Hanoi welcomed 6.35 million foreign tourists last year, marking a 34% year-on-year increase, according to the city's Department of Tourism.

Thailand's capital Bangkok secured the third place.
"Golden palaces, floating markets, majestic porcelain-laid spires… you've never seen a capital city quite like Bangkok," Tripadvisor wrote.
It advised tourists to come to Pratunam or Siam Square for premium shopping, then unwind in the European-style gardens of Dusit, and visit Wat Arun temple on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. The main feature of Wat Arun is its central prang, which is encrusted with colorful porcelain.
For food enthusiasts, savor mango sticky rice at a food stall before taking in the gilded splendor of the Grand Palace.

The ancient city of Hoi An in central Vietnam ranked fourth.
Tripadvisor highlighted Hoi An, a central Vietnamese city, as "a well-preserved example of an important Southeast Asian trading port from the 15th to 19th centuries."
On the 14th and 15th days of the lunar month, visitors will have an opportunity to partake in the Lantern Festival to see hundreds of lanterns gently float along the Hoai River, creating a mesmerizing sight, it said.

Cambodia's Siem Reap came fifth.
The iconic Angkor Wat complex and the 12th-century royal city of Angkor Thom are among the top reasons to visit Siem Reap.
"When the morning light washes over the overgrown temples and ruins of Angkor Wat, a simple Siem Reap sunrise becomes a profound event," Tripadvisor describes the place, recommeding visitors to visit the Cambodian Cultural Village and the Angkor night market, a hub of shopping stalls, food vendors, and bars.

Thailand's Phuket Island ranked sixth.
Phuket is the country's largest island, famous for its stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, and iconic Big Buddha. It's also popular with water sports activities and cruise experiences.

The city is nestled in a valley rich with historic sites, ancient temples, shrines, and charming villages.
Wander through Durbar Square's iconic monuments, mingling with locals and wandering animals, or immerse yourself in the lively Thamel District, a hub for mountain trekkers, Tripadvisor recommended.

India's New Delhi ranked 8th.
The 17th-century Red Fort impresses with its sprawling domes and turrets, while Chandni Chowk offers a lively experience of friendly haggling.
Jantar Mantar showcases massive sundials and astronomical instruments, still used for weather predictions today.

The Maldives, a cluster of over 1,000 islands in the Indian Ocean, ranked ninth.
Renowned for its long, sandy beaches and luxury resorts, many accessible only by private charter, the Maldives has long been a favorite getaway for celebrities and the elite.
The best time to visit the Maldives is during its summer season, from December to April, when the weather is at its most pleasant. This period also marks the peak travel season.

Ho Chi Minh City rounded out the top 10.
"Vietnam's bustling largest city sets the cultural and economic pace for the country," Tripadvisor noted.
The city features "charming French colonial architecture and wide boulevards, often teeming with traffic," it said.
The U.S.-based travel site recommended visiting the War Remnants Museum at 28 Vo Van Tan Street in District 3, as well as the Jade Emperor Pagoda, famously visited by former U.S. President Barack Obama during his 2016 trip to Vietnam.
