Nhung, 25, is famous in the Vietnamese martial arts scene. She is specialized in pencak silat and Arnis, the national martial art of the Philippines. Recently, Nhung attracted attention when she participated in the beauty pageant Miss Tourism Identity Vietnam and entered the top 30.
She also won the Sports Beauty title at the contest and received a prize of VND50 million ($2,000).
This is the first time Nhung has participated in a beauty contest. The athlete said that having to catwalk in 13-cm high heels was a real challenge.
Although Nhung only entered the top 30, she was still happy and proud of her performance.
Nhung started training pencak silat in the eighth grade. In 2015, after two years of training with a national coach, she won a medal at the national youth championship and a silver medal at the world youth championship.
In 2019, Nhung was selected for the Arnis team of Vietnam to compete in the SEA Games 30 in the Philippines and won the gold medal.
At the SEA Games 32 in Cambodia in 2023, she won a bronze medal.
At the national silat club championship this year, Nhung won a gold medal for her hometown Hai Phong.
