The eldest sister, Nguyen Thi My Hanh, led the charge in the women's under-62kg event on Thursday. She defeated Caprio Geralin (Philippines) 4-1, Kharisma Tantri (Indonesia) 3-, and Sopha Thammavong (Laos) 5-0. In her final bout, she overcame Thailand's Srisombat Salinee 4-1 to secure her fourth consecutive SEA Games gold.
Inspired by their sister's victory, the younger siblings delivered stellar performances in their finals later on.

Upon receiving her medal, Trang raised three fingers to celebrate her third consecutive SEA Games gold.
The three sisters from Hue posed for a photo with their gold medals, cementing a SEA Games legacy like the three Quah siblings of Singapore did in swimming.
Their success contributed to a dominant wrestling campaign for Vietnam, which also saw Do Ngoc Linh win gold in the women's 50kg event. The victories lifted the Vietnamese wrestling team's tally to seven gold medals, with the men's freestyle events still to come on Friday.
Born into a family of seven siblings in Thua Thien-Hue, the sisters' journey began with My Hanh (born in 1997), who took up the sport at the invitation of a cousin. Her success paved the way for My Trang (2001) and My Linh (2003).
Their dominance extends to the domestic level, where they swept the national classic and freestyle wrestling championships in 2025. Meanwhile, younger sister Nguyen Thi My Tien (2005) recently won a bronze medal and the youngest brother, Nguyen Dang Quoc (2013), has already begun training.
Coach Dinh Van Kien, who mentors the sisters, noted that the family has revitalized wrestling in Hue. The sisters affectionately refer to him as their second father.
"I have done a lot of research on the Vietnamese wrestling scene, and I’m sure no other family has four sisters who all pursue wrestling and compete simultaneously like this," My Hanh said in a 2023 interview. "No one in our family was involved in sports before, but I was passionate about it. After my sisters developed a love for wrestling, I helped them build a habit for the sport."
