Chiharu Shida, born in 1997, is a famous Japanese badminton player. She is participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics in the women's doubles event with her teammate Nami Matsuyama.
In the group stage of the women's doubles event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Shida and Matsuyama had two victories against opponents from India and Australia, then lost to the South Korean duo on July 30.
Shida's first notable achievement was the bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Junior Badminton Championship. The first international title in her professional career was the 2016 Vietnam International title. In 2018, she won the Taiwan Open.
Shida and Matsuyama are currently ranked 4th on the world rankings in women's doubles. The two players have claimed 11 titles together but have not won any tournaments in 2024. This year, they finished second three times at the French Open, All England Open and Singapore Open.
