Since its inception in 2015, the second campus of the Social Insurance Training school has only received two delegations of students for short-term courses. Now, it's closed, awaiting new students. Construction of the campus started in 2008 and completed in late 2014 on a 2.5 hectare area. VND100 billion ($4.5 million) has been invested for this school.
The school has many classrooms, accommodation and spacious buildings. It is supposed to train insurance professionals.
However, since its inception in 2015 the school only welcomed two groups of students to study short-term courses for about 15 days.
After welcoming the first two groups of students and staff for about two weeks, the school has "hibernated".
The school has two security rooms located at the front and back gates. The latter is empty even though the door remains open.
Vu Xuan Hien, Chief of Vietnam Social Insurance Office, said the absence of students in recent years is because the school is new. At this initial phase, the staff need further training before the school can welcome more students. "Once the school’s operations are stable, we will move insurance training to Ha Tinh. We've already got plans for classes from now till the end of 2016," Hien said.
