A coastal resort in Nha Trang in central Vietnam has had several buildings dismantled so the beach could be used for public purposes.

There are only paths and trees left in the area. High-value trees and other decorations of the resort have been moved to a new location at the Bai Dai beach of Cam Lam District, around 30 km away.

The main entrance of the resort is retained, albeit always closed and guarded.

Bungalows facing the sea have been barricaded and signs were erected to warn people not to enter. As there are still properties of the resort in the area, there are guards to protect them. Rooms with valuable properties are locked and barricaded to prevent theft.

"Except for the main entrance, all the fences around the resort have been removed, allowing people to go in and out of the beach freely," a guard said.

Several machines used for dismantling purposes remain at the resort.

An abandoned pool at the resort is now full of trash and debris. Per a proposal by the main investor, the pool will be retained for public and tourism purposes.

Without any caretaker, plant life now invades the facility.

People still come to the area to salvage usable objects.
