The Evason Ana Mandara resort, which runs 400 m long along the beach, was built in 1995.

Last June Khanh Hoa Province authorities decided to take back the 38,000 m2 on which it is situated for public use.

Some buildings in the resort have had their roofs dismantled. The investor said the demolition process is being hastened.

In 2021 the Khanh Hoa People's Committee approved lease of land in Cam Ranh Town by the developer to build a new resort. Now, after several delays, the resort is being dismantled and will be moved to the new location in Cam Ranh.

Nguyen Tan Tuan, chairman of Khanh Hoa, said authorities would consider which portions of the land to use.

In February the People's Committee urged the Ministry of Public Security to relocate its Hotel 378.
