Tan Cang will be the largest station on HCMC’s metro line No.1 and have a different design from the 10 others above ground.

Tan Cang Station in Binh Thanh District is now 93% complete. It is one of 11 stations out of the 14 that will not be underground.

Set to be finished by the first quarter next year, it will have a 6,200-sq.m roof made of fiberglass reinforced plastic sheets produced in Japan.

The first floor will also have the ticket checking area, staff offices, a souvenir shop, and a technical area.

Tan Cang will be the only station with four tracks since it will be connected with the metro line No.5 in future.

All other stations will have only two tracks.
