The reception area on the ground floor of An Phu karaoke is seen damaged by fire in this photo taken on Friday. There are seven rooms on this floor.
Entering operation in 2016, the three-floor facility comprises 29 rooms and is owned by a local man named Le Anh Xuan, 42.
Sandals and a helmet are scattered across the floor next to water bottles and beer cans.
According to the official report, a fire broke out at the bar, which is located in Thuan An Town of Binh Duong, a neighboring province of Ho Chi Minh City, around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday following several blasts.
The wall and stairs leading to the second floor were severely burned.
Colonel Trinh Ngoc Quyen, director of Binh Duong Police Department, said security camera footage showed the fire broke out along the corridor on the second floor and was possibly caused by a short circuit inside the ceiling.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam (R) talks to police on the third floor of the karaoke on Thursday.
All 32 bodies were found here. At the time of the fire, there were around 60 people inside, including 30 customers.
The ceiling on the third floor is burned to its frame.
The three-story parlor has a floor area of 1,500 square meters, with the fire having affected 400 square meters of the second and third floors.
A room of 30 square meters on the third floor is partially burned.
When it caught fire, customers occupied five of the 10 rooms on this floor.
"Many people fled to the rest room on this floor to avoid the smoke yet ended up suffocating," said Colonel Quyen.
Windows of the bar were blocked by bricks.
The only exit is a ventilator window where several people had jumped from, breaking their limbs.
