The city held 15-minute fireworks shows from 9 p.m. on April 30 at seven sites, including three high-altitude displays at the Saigon River Tunnel entrance in An Khanh Ward, the new city center in Binh Duong Ward, and Ba Ria Park Square in Ba Ria Ward.
Crowds gather at Me Linh Square near the Tran Hung Dao monument to watch and take photos, as the area offers one of the city’s best views of the fireworks.

Tran Thi Oanh, 21, takes photos with friends during her first visit from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City, where she sees the April 30 fireworks.
“The trip felt even more special because of the spectacular display,” she said.
Do Ba Tuan, 30, and his family traveled more than 40 km from Binh Duong to the Me Linh Square construction site to watch the fireworks.
Many parents lift their children onto their shoulders for a better view of the fireworks.
Phong says he brings his three-year-old son to watch the holiday display.
“The roads are crowded and the trip takes time, but the fireworks are beautiful, and my son really enjoys them,” he says.
At the square in Ba Ria Ward, thousands gather to watch cultural performances and a 15-minute fireworks display.
The site, one of three high-altitude launch locations in Ho Chi Minh City this holiday, draws large crowds.
Thousands flock to the banks of the Dong Nai River in Tran Bien Ward to watch an art program and fireworks celebrating Dong Nai’s elevation to a centrally governed city on April 30.
Besides the display in Tran Bien Ward, Dong Nai also stages fireworks at 12 other sites, including three high-altitude and 10 low-altitude locations in newly designated wards.
