Doan Van Hau
Hau and his girlfriend Doan Hai My got married in November. The pair had been dating since 2020 but did not publicly announce their relationship until August 2022.
The national team defender proposed to his girlfriend in September at a resort with a romantic setting. The couple completed their marriage registration on Oct. 20.
Hau, born in 1999, is considered the number one left-back in Vietnam currently. With Vietnam, he finished as runner-up at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, won the 2019 SEA Games gold medal and the 2018 AFF Cup, reached the quarterfinals of the 2019 Asian Cup and advanced to the final qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup for the first time. Hau also won the V. League three times with Hanoi FC in 2018, 2019 and 2022 and in 2023 with CAHN.
My, born in 2001, finished in the top 10 of the 2020 Miss Vietnam contest. She graduated from Hanoi Law University and is working as a model along with other business ventures.
Tran Dinh Trong
Defender Dinh Trong and his wife Huyen Trang got married on Sept. 24 in Hanoi. The defender of Binh Dinh FC and the beauty queen from Dien Bien Province had been dating since 2014, when he was still a young Hanoi FC star. The two held an engagement ceremony in June 2022. Trong and Trang welcomed their first son, Luffy, in January.
Trong has recently recovered from a anterior cruciate ligament injury that forced him to miss the entire 2023 season. However, he has not played a match for Binh Dinh in the new season.
Giap Tuan Duong
Giap Tuan Duong and his girlfriend Vu Minh Anh held their wedding on Dec. 6. The Cong An Ha Noi defender and his girlfriend dated for three years before getting married.
Minh Anh, born in 2000, is two years older than Duong. She studied at the Faculty of Law, Administration & Justice at the Vietnam Women's Institute.
Duong is a member of the CAHN squad that won the V. League last season.
Thanks to his impressive performance at club level, he was called up to the national team in October. Duong came on as a substitute in the second half of the friendly with South Korea on Oct. 17, which Vietnam lost 6-0, their biggest defeat in 20 years.
Pham Trung Hieu
Pham Trung Hieu and his wife Chau Thi Vang tied the knot on May 27 in Hai Phong. Vang is also a football player, and former international. The two spent some time to get to know each other before making their relationship public in 2022.
Hieu was born in 1998 and plays for Hai Phong FC. He can play as a midfielder or right-back. After leaving an impression at Hai Phong, Hieu was called up to the national team in September. He appeared in the starting lineup in the friendly match against Palestine on Sept. 11 but suffered a broken fibula and is currently in recovery.
Vang, born in 2002, joined the U19 Vietnam women’s team and played in the U19 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers. She was called up by coach Mai Duc Chung to the women’s national team for the 2022 Women’s AFF Cup preparation. At the end of 2022, Vang retired from professional football.
Tran Thanh Son
Midfielder Tran Thanh Son and his girlfriend Ho Quyen wed on Oct. 1 in Ho Chi Minh City. The couple made their relationship public in May 2022.
Son, born in 1997, was a product of Hoang Anh Gia Lai youth academy. He was called up to the U22 team for the 2020 U23 Asian Cup qualifiers, scoring one goal in the 4-0 victory over Thailand. Son is also a member of U23 Vietnam team that won the 2019 SEA Games gold medal in the Philippines.
Mai Xuan Quyet
Midfielder Mai Xuan Quyet and his wife Thu Hien got married on Sept. 23 in their hometown Nam Dinh Province. The two have been together for many years and had a daughter before tying the knot.
Quyet was born in 1999 and grew up playing for Nam Dinh FC. In 2022, he joined the U23 Vietnam team to compete in the U23 AFF Cup in Cambodia and won the title. At this tournament, Quyet played two matches before leaving the team after he contracted Covid-19.
Thai Ba Sang
Midfielder Thai Ba Sang and girlfriend An Nhan got married on Oct. 1 in Nghe An Province. The couple dated for two years before deciding to settle down. Sang's wife Nhan was born in 1999 and currently manages a nail salon in Nghe An.
Sang was born in 1999 and started his career in his hometown club Song Lam Nghe An. His impressive displays at SLNA earned him a call-up to the U23 team in 2022.
Nguyen Ba Minh Hieu
Goalkeeper Nguyen Ba Minh Hieu and girlfriend My Phuong got married on Nov. 11. Phuong is currently a teacher. Both are private about their relationship and rarely share their moments online.
Hieu, born in 1997, was called up to the youth team of Vietnam but struggled to compete for the number one position. Currently, he only plays a reserve role at Hanoi FC as third-choice keeper after Bui Tan Truong and Nguyen Van Hoang.
