Ticket sales opened last Saturday for the first two games of group H between HAGL – Yokohama and Jeonbuk – Sydney FC.

Fans lined up in front of the stadium hours before the opening time of 8:30 a.m.

Most of the fans were young supporters of local team HAGL.

One woman said: "HAGL have to face stronger teams and their chance of advancing is not looking good, but we love the club and the players, so we've come here to buy tickets to the game."

The original plan was to sell the tickets to people standing outside the stadium. However, with the crowd much bigger than anticipated, the ticket booths were moved inside the stadium's premises.

Fans were allowed to enter the stadium premises in small groups to buy tickets.

The organizers arranged two entry points to the VIP ticket area. Each person was allowed to purchase a maximum of four tickets.

There were three price stamps for the tickets: VND50,000 for stand C and D, VND100,000 for stand B and VND200,000 for stand A.

"The tickets for stand A were sold out in an hour. The tickets for other stands will be sold in the morning and afternoon until matchday. We are really happy that the fans purchased a lot of tickets to support HAGL," a representative of HAGL said.

The HAGL – Yokohama and Jeonbuk – Sydney FC games will be played respectively at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on April 16.
