This is Vietnam's second training session in Australia. If the first session mainly focused on helping the players to relax their muscles and get accquainted to the new environment after a long flight, this session put players into work mode.
The team were divided into two sides and played a short match, under the instruction of assistant coach Lee Young-jin.
The match lasted about 30 minutes. According to Vietnam Football Federation, the players are all fully fit.
After six straight losses, Vietnam are last in group B. In the first leg, Vietnam played at home against Australia and lost 0-1.
Australia are third with 11 points while Saudi Arabia are on top with 16, and Japan second with 12.
Most of the time, Park only stood on the sideline to observe, evaluate and consider his lineup selection.
Midfielder To Van Vu (L) said the team were pretty tired upon arrival, but they have started to adapt. This is Vu's third call up to the national team.
"I feel less strange than the last two times. I'm blending in quite well. Previously, I set a target to go to Australia with the team. Now that I made it here, I hope I will get to play," Vu said.
"Australia are a very strong team. In the first leg, Vietnam lost 0-1, but we expect to create a surprise in the upcoming match," Vu added.
