Vietnam commenced their first training session in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, on Thursday to prepare for their upcoming World Cup Asian qualifying campaign.

After all Covid-19 test results returned negative, coach Park Hang-seo immediately proceeded with team training, cheered on by a small number of fans.

They arrived in the UAE early on Thursday.

Players trained at the Police Dubai training ground, eight kilometers from their hotel. The session started at 8 p.m. local time, the evening temperature recorded at 34 degrees Celsius.

At the end of the session, Park divided players into two teams for a practice match unobserved by media.

Vietnam are topping group G with 11 points. They will clash with Indonesia on June 7, Malaysia on the 11th and UAE on the 15th. Two wins out of three games will secure them a place in the final World Cup qualification round.
