The festival, held from Friday to Sunday at Ly Thai To Square and Hoan Kiem Lake walking street, was part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic relations.
The festival took place on a sunny weekend, attracting many locals and international tourists.
More than 40 booths showcased French agricultural products and food. There were also booths featuring Vietnamese cuisines and specialties from different regions.
The festival offered a wide range of delicious cakes including croissant, macaron, tart, brownie, éclair, and opera. The products were sold at discounted prices.
French pate baguette was one of the most popular dishes at the festival because it suits the Vietnamese palate.
Visitors could try and buy popular French dishes such as milk, chocolate, bread, cakes, pate, cheese, cold cuts, fruit, and wine.
Besides, goose breast salad with passion fruit sauce, chestnut soup with truffle flavor, smoked ham salad with mustard sauce also gained lots of attraction from visitors.
Guests at the festival could savor sourdough bread with ham, pickled cucumber and Bordier butter, a handmade butter that is one of the world's finest.
They could also watch chef Marc Alès, a winner of the Meilleur Ouvrier de France title and a teacher at Ferrandi Paris school, one of France's most prestigious culinary schools, demonstrate his cooking skills.
Some of the famous French restaurants, importers and brands that participated in the festival are Paysan breton, Métropole, Red Apron, Marou, Saint Honoré, La Table Hanoia, and members of French fruit and ham industry associations. France24 TV channel also attended the event.
The festival attracted many foreign tourists who were eager to experience a French food festival in Vietnam for the first time.
The festival resembled a country fair in France, with various activities such as a quiz about France, a painting workshop, a film screening, a music performance by students and a hip hop dance show.
In addition, there were booths that introduced tourism, hotels and education opportunities in France at the festival.
