Hang flew to South Korea last week to enjoy her first holiday trip abroad in the Year of the Dragon.
"Every dish was delicious. After eating, I went to visit museums and the royal palace. Luckily, I didn't gain any weight," Hang said.
She tried many Korean specialties such as bulgogi grilled meat, ginseng chicken, kimchi soup and snacks at the night market.
Hang enjoyed sentinel-crab marinated in soy sauce called “Ganjanggejang” at a restaurant that received a Michelin star in 2018.
Ganjanggejang is a traditional dish made by marinating fresh raw crabs in a mild soy-based brine.
Hang also tried chicken stewed with ginseng and abalone, known as Samgyetang, a popular dish during winter days.
Samgyetanghas a sweet, light broth stewed for many hours from premium ingredients such as ginseng, jujube, green beans, herbs and abalone.
Hang took time to visit Seoul’s night markets and taste street snacks. One of them was a hot and fragrant egg cake.
Hang holds sugar-dipped fruit, known as Tanghulu, a popular snack in the Myeongdong neighborhood in Seoul.
The dish is of Chinese origin, originally using red apples. When introduced to South Korea, people replaced it with strawberries, grapes or tangerines.
