Hanoi dominated this year’s list of the best luxury restaurants in Vietnam as voted by readers of U.S. travel site Tripadvisor with six representatives, followed by HCMC with three and one in Phu Quoc.

Located on the seventh floor of La Sinfonía del Rey Hotel & Spa in Hanoi, Rhythms topped the list.

The restaurant offers outdoor dining with views of Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter.

"The Rhythms Restaurant sits by a beautiful lake, creating an enchanting backdrop for your meal. The menu is extensive, featuring creative dishes that are well-presented and delicious," Tripadvisor wrote.

A set menu that costs from VND1.05 million (US$42) per person features high-end dishes such as cured salmon, Hokubee beef steak, baked tiger prawn and spring roll roasted duck.

It is located at 33-35 Hang Dau Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.

Located on the third floor of Caravelle Saigon Hotel, Reflections ranked second. The restaurant offers views of the Saigon Opera House in a luxurious setting, with a three-course menu that highlights international fine dining.

"The wagyu beef steak comes highly recommended, and the chef's degustation menu is a delight. The staff is both friendly and professional, making for a memorable dining experience," Tripadvisor wrote.

The restaurant recently serves lunch for business travelers for selection of 3 courses with prices of VND490,000 and four courses with VND590,000.

It is located at 19 Lam Son Square, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

Located in Hanoi's Old Quarter, Cloud Nine secured the third place.

With space for up to 80 guests and an outdoor area, diners can enjoy views of Hoan Kiem Lake while sampling iconic Vietnamese dishes from the northern, central, and southern regions, such as fragrant beef noodles, grilled beef, and bun cha (grilled pork with rice noodles).

Its main course dishes include slow cooked ribs (pictured).

"Cloud Nine Restaurant has a beautiful setting with scenic views that you'll appreciate. The food is delicious and artfully presented, with a great variety to choose from," the site noted.

A set menu costs from VND790,000 per person.

John Anthony Cantonese Grill & Dimsum inside JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi ranked fourth.

This restaurant serves authentic Cantonese dishes like dim sum, roasted meats, and seafood, with specialties such as roasted Peking duck prepared in a wood stone duck oven.

"Try the BBQ pork buns and shrimp dumplings—they're delicious," Tripadvisor recommended.

It is open from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Prices start from VND180,000 per serving and its most expensive dish is Peking duck at VND2.18 million per serving.

Lava Restaurant inside the InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort on the southern island of Phu Quoc ranked fifth on the list.

Meticulously designed with bamboo elements and featuring a vibrant, electric-blue fossilized coral bar, the restaurant specializes in fresh seafood sourced daily from local fishermen. Guests can personally select their seafood from a live tank.

Lava's extensive wine collection includes both old-world classics and crisp new-world selections. For those seeking a more intimate dining experience, private dining rooms are available downstairs.

"The fresh seafood is a highlight, especially the well-presented dishes that taste delicious," Tripadvisor wrote.

Hemispheres Steak & Seafood Grill on the second floor of Sheraton Hanoi Hotel​​​​ was sixth.

The restaurant offers a menu with a variety of choices like black angus, U.S. prime sirloin, rib eye, grilled rump and tenderloin served with different sauces as well as fresh salads and vegetables, with prices ranging from VND180,000 to 1.7 million.

The address is K5 Xuan Dieu Street, Tay Ho District.

French Grill Restaurant in the lobby of the five-star JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi ranked seventh.

The restaurant offers classic French cuisine with a local twist and has gained popularity among foreign visitors. Its menu features dishes such as seared foie gras, classic caviar, and premium steaks, with prices ranging from VND300,000 to VND700,000.

The restaurant operates daily from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Le Corto Restaurant in downtown HCMC, right behind the Saigon Opera House, came in eighth.

Signature dishes include pan-fried foie gras served with port jus and mango, as well as tofu parfait topped with salmon roe pearls and micro-herbs sourced from Da Lat.

The restaurant's name was inspired by the comic character Corto, known for his free spirit, desire to explore the world, and ability to make friends along his journeys.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Prices range from VND250,000 to 1.65 million.

The address is 5D Nguyen Sieu Street, District 1.

Located in downtown HCMC, The Monkey Gallery Dining ranked ninth and is one of the first fine dining restaurants in HCMC.

Located on a small and calm street, the restaurant was designed by the founders, inspired by contemporary Japanese and Australian materials, while retaining the existing structure of a Vietnam Indochina colonial house.

The dining room features an ultra-high ceiling with a central open kitchen that acts as the heart of the gallery, where artists work on their imaginative creations. The 200-square-meter area has 12 seats, 7 chef's table seats, and a private gallery.

"It offers a warm, intimate setting with a unique fusion of European, Mediterranean, and Asian cuisines. The tasting menu is a delightful adventure, with dishes that are as beautiful as they are delicious," Tripadvisor wrote.

Prices range from VND1.2-2.6 million, according to Tripadvisor.

Tung Dining in Hanoi finished the list.

Nestled in downtown Hanoi and close to popular tourist destinations such as St. Joseph's Cathedral and the Sword Lake, the restaurant opened in 2018 and specializes in elaborate 18-course tasting menu prepared by chef Hoang Tung and his team.

"The restaurant combines Danish and Vietnamese flavors in a unique fusion. The set menu is a standout, featuring beautifully presented dishes with high-end ingredients," Tripadvisor described.

The winners as part of the 2024 Travelers' Choice "Best of the Best" Restaurants Awards were determined based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and ratings posted on Tripadvisor between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024.

Prices range from VND799,000-1.99 million, according to Tripadvisor.
