Minh Tri, 43, was forced to carry his dogs to temporary safety as his home was submerged by more than half a meter of floodwater.
"The water began rising at noon [on Monday] and still shows no sign of receding by afternoon," he said. He added that while his area has experienced flooding before, he has never witnessed water levels this high.
Located next to the North-South railway line, a residential area in Tay Nha Trang Ward was submerged by over a meter.

In addition to flooding, landslides have become severe in Khanh Hoa.
On Sunday night, a major landslide occurred on National Highway 27C at Khanh Le Pass, the main route linking Nha Trang and Da Lat.
The slide buried a sleeper bus carrying 32 passengers and killed six people. Several other landslide points have emerged along the pass, paralyzing traffic as authorities mobilized equipment to clear the road.

In Quang Ngai Province, 150–235 mm of rain falling overnight on Sunday and into Monday morning caused the collapse of a span and an abutment of a bridge over Nuoc Bao Stream, cutting off access between two hamlets in Son Ha Commune, isolating over 1,200 residents.
Authorities have set up barricades at both ends, prohibiting entry to the dangerous area, while villagers built a temporary bamboo bridge across the stream.
